>> Bald Head Island is a tranquil resort community off the coast of NC. Wildlife sounds are abundant, for the only way to get there is via boat - cars are prohibited. To attract prospective home buyers and visitors, they used to send out the standard mailer with the standard pretty beach photos. But we convinced them to send out one-tenth as many mailers instead, with a “Sounds of Bald Head Island CD” enclosed. We recorded it ourselves one weekend - birds chirping, waves crashing, frogs singing...you could fall asleep to this CD. The response rate was through the roof. People kept the CDs for years, and copied it for their friends.
